Meeting notes

Notes that write themselves from the call you're on — no bot joins, the audio is turned into text on your computer and never kept, and the notes stay in Veda's encrypted memory.

Take notes

On the Meetings page, open a meeting and press Take notes — or press it on the meeting card that appears when a meeting starts, or the countdown before it. For a call that isn't on your calendar, or a meeting in the room, press New notes under Meeting notes.

Veda listens on your computer to two things: your microphone (marked Me) and the call's sound (marked Them). Nothing joins the call. While it listens, jot a word or two for anything you want to remember — Veda fills in the rest from what was said.

Press Stop and write notes on the Meetings page, or Stop in the menu-bar or tray panel. Veda writes, leaving out any part with nothing in it:

  • Your notes — your jottings, expanded.
  • Summary, Decisions, Your action items, Their action items, Open questions.

The transcript is underneath. Write again rewrites the notes from it; Delete removes both. Your last few notes are listed under Meeting notes on the Meetings page.

Note-taking stops on its own after three hours, in case you forget.

What it needs

  • Microphone — your side. Setup asks for it.
  • Call audio — the other side. On a Mac, macOS asks for System Audio Recording the first time you take notes. On Windows, no permission is needed.
  • The speech model — the one setup downloads for voice. You can check it in Settings → General, under Voice.

Use headphones if you can: with speakers, your microphone also picks up the others. Veda drops what it also heard from the call, but some of it can still show up under Me.

Privacy

  • Every minute of audio is turned into text on your computer — Apple's speech model on a Mac, Whisper on Windows — and then thrown away. Audio is never saved and never sent anywhere. Silent minutes are skipped.
  • When you stop, the transcript and your jottings go to the AI once to write the notes.
  • Notes and transcripts stay in Veda's encrypted memory on your computer, and go when you clear memory.
  • Tell the people on the call you're taking notes.

Usage

Listening and turning speech into text are free. Writing the notes counts as one AI request, and so does each Write again.
