Home

Settings → Home is the first thing you see when you open Veda's window.

  • This week — an estimate of the time Veda has saved you so far this week, with the messages written, words, your busiest app, and how that compares with the same days last week ("up 20% on last week").
  • Today, This week, All time — your rewrite counts, plus your Top app this month.
  • Your plan — a strip showing your plan and usage. Click Manage to go to Settings → Plan.
  • Your writing — a heatmap of the last 18 weeks, one square per day. Darker means more.
  • Quick controls — Veda is on, Trigger key, Sound effects, Writing indicator, Learn my writing and Weekly recap.

How "time saved" is worked out

It's an estimate: typing the words Veda wrote at about 40 words a minute, plus a few seconds per message for fixing it up. It's worked out on your computer from your own usage, and the recap itself never leaves it.

The weekly recap

On Monday morning (at or after 9:00), Veda sends one notification with last week's numbers:

Veda saved you about 1h 40m last week — 86 messages, mostly in Slack.

It's sent once a week, and only if you used Veda at least once that week. Click it to open Home. On a Mac, Veda asks for permission to show notifications the first time a recap is due — not when you install it. On Windows it appears as a tray notification.

Switch it off with Weekly recap under Quick controls on Home.

Activity

Settings → Activity is a log of everything Veda has done, newest first: each rewrite, reply, edit and dictation, which app it was in, and anything that went wrong.

  • Filter by All, Replies or Problems, or search.
  • Reveal the log file, or clear it.

The log is about what Veda did — which app, which AI answered, what went wrong — not about your messages. For dictation it notes only the length of the recording. It stays on your computer.
